Weight Weight Don’t Kill Me, Chapter 2, Electric Boogaloo

Depressingly enough I weigh exactly the same this week as I did last week.

I don’t know why I expected it to be any different, I really wasn’t that successful at changing either my diet or adding exercise. Maybe I thought the great hidden gods of weight loss would throw me a bone here. You know, saying in their booming god voices “Hey he means well, lets help this foolish mortal out”

But lo, they did nothing for me.

I had my fallback's like “I put on more muscle!” but there is almost no chance of that either. The bottom line is this week was a middle of the road success. I guess I will have to forge ahead without depending on any largess or help of those weight loss gods

    Weight Loss Realization.

They say the hardest step to take on any journey is the first one. This may work well for traveling but  if you are trying to drop the weight like I am, this concept is utter philosophical horse pucky. Ask anyone who is trying to drop the pounds how many times they started, how many times they made that first step.

When it comes to weight loss starting is easy, that first step is easy.

It’s not the first step that counts, it’s every other step that counts.

It’s taking steps forward even when you hit a wall,

it’s taking a step forward even if your last two steps were backwards.

It’s getting up and taking more steps when you think “I’m tired and need to stop, this is never going to work”

So here is my Danism of the week. Something to fight off the idiots who like to quote the “first step” mantra.

    Ready?

“When it comes to weight loss the most important step you take, is your next one”

-- Dan Christensen Bus driver 2012

Here is some more advice the worse time to start your diet and exercise program is when your area is going through the highest temps of the year.  Not good.

    Week 1

    Successes So Far

Walking: I have upped my walking, in fact when I’m done writing this I’m off to go do my daily morning walk.

Work Out: Simple as hell work out I did twice last week aiming for three times this week.

    Not so Successful

Reduction in non-water drinkables. I have made some progress but not enough. I would like to blame the heat here.. roll with me on this one.

Eating Better. Ok here is about the same. It didn’t help that I went on a small trip and that always seems the hardest time to keep your food battle going strong.

So my excuses for the week is, the heat and a trip.. lets add them to my excuse list and not use them again.

Excuse list. "It's been hot." and "I was on a trip."

    Excuse List

    1. It's been not!
    2. I was on a trip.
