A Peek At A Trimet Drivers World

Homeless Of The Portland Area
Being a driver means you see every strata of our world. Sometimes our shelters and transit centes are used by the homeless. I never call them in and I never mess with them. Though I have never been this low in my life I have been plenty low enough and I know that these people don't have choices. Sleep on friend, sleep on.

Portland Welding Women
This photo is in a doctors office. There was just something about it that grabbed me. I believe it's durring world war II here in Portland near swan Island but I could be wrong. You can see all sorts of stories here, the tough one, the young one, the old one the happy one. The friends the outcast... You can see a dozen stories in their eyes. I love this pic.

Trimet Bus Says...
Fun with what we call "Overhead Codes" this is one of my faves. It should say "Trimet is hiridng but you may not be good enough" In Oregon and especially Portland anyplace that is hiring is rare so lets all be thankful someplace is hiring.
The Powell Extraboard Or What A Tirmet Extraboard driver does.
Ok Ok I know it doesn't look like much but this is what I do. This is the extraboard and I'm an extraboard driver. So I sit and watch these sign in sheets. If you are one second late for your start time, I drink your milkshake. Have you seen me? I drink a lot of milkshakes so be on time to work.
Trimet 3000 Busses... what one is mine?
Let's see one of these new 3000 busses is mine, that one! no wiat it's that one! No wait it's dang they all look alike to me. 54 new busses and they all look the same. Lucky for me they are numbered or I would be screwed.

Trimet Sneaking up on fellow driver.
Ok before you tax payers have a fit about drivers sleeping on the job, know that sometimes we have to sit for hours in a bus waiting for work. This happens a hand full of times in a year but this driver figured out a way to pass those hours away. He curls up in his portbable bed with the dispatch radio and sleeps away. It was hard not to sneak up on him and flip him out of this bed. Believe me, very hard.
Trimet Max stop on 82nd.
I was waiting to relieve a 77 bus when I turned and quickly snapped this little pic of the Trimet max stop on 82nds. With the rain and lighting it was my best shot of the day and I didn't even try.

Sunset at Powell Garage Portland Oregon Trimet
Sunset at Powell Garage, At the end of a long day I was walking in from the yard when I saw this sunset reflected in the window of our station. I turned and snapped this pic and seconds latter it was gone. Perfect catch for the fall sunset.
And that's it for this week in pics. I hope you enjoyed them. See you back here next week for more photo fun.
